Harald Leipnitz
Harald Leipnitz (born April 22, 1926 in Elberfeld , † November 21, 2000 in Munich ) was a German actor , radio play and voice actor .
biography
The son of a master locksmith took a detour to acting when he was not given an apprenticeship or university place after being released from prisoner-of-war captivity. After appearances in amateur theater groups, he took acting lessons from Hans Caninenberg and made his debut at the Wuppertal theaters in 1948 . Until 1960 he was engaged in Wuppertal . Further engagements in Munich at the Bavarian State Theater , Berlin, Düsseldorf and Stuttgart followed, as well as in touring theaters.
In addition, Leipnitz played in numerous films and television productions. He gained great popularity through appearances in the Karl May films The Oil Prince and Winnetou and his friend Old Firehand and as a leading actor in the Edgar Wallace films The Crypt with the Riddle Castle , The Eerie Monk and The Blue Hand . For his portrayal in the film The Endless Night , he received the film tape in gold in 1963 . In 1968 he was also awarded the Golden Bambi by the magazine Bild + Funk . His best known and most popular role in television he played in 1965 alongside Albert Lieven in the street sweeper The Keys by Francis Durbridge .
Leipnitz was also active to a large extent as a dubbing and radio play speaker. He lent his voice to Alain Delon in Only The Sun Was Witness , Cary Grant in His Girl For Special Occasions , Albert Finney in Tom Jones , Charles Aznavour in The Hatter's Fantome and Richard Harris in Robin and Marian . In radio play productions for the radio he was often heard in detective radio plays and radio play adaptations of world literature ( Theodor Fontane : Effi Briest , co-production SFB / BR / HR, 1974). Children are particularly familiar with his voice from the Anke Beckert productions published by Phonogram, Jim Knopf und die wilde 13 (1973), Momo (1975), and The Neverending Story (1980). In 1978 Leipnitz took over the role of the narrator for Ellis Kauts Meister Eder and his Pumuckl for episodes 34 to 39 of the so-called 1st edition of EMI Electrola's LP productions . His contributions were no longer used in the 1980s, when the first edition was also used when the second edition was created.
Leipnitz had his last film appearance in the dark science fiction film Vortex , which was only completed after his death.
Leipnitz was married to Walburga Dohle from 1948 until his death. He had three children with her. From 1969, however, he lived with Ingrid Weis.
Harald Leipnitz died of lung cancer in November 2000 . His grave is in the cemetery in Köstenberg near Velden , Carinthia .
