action

At the end of the 21st century, young Vincent is attacked by a man whom he kills in self-defense. In the Vortex prison, he meets the mysterious Boon, who gives him clear instructions. Like any other prisoner, he has duties to perform. His first assignment is to repeat his crime: Vincent has to murder someone every week. His first job is to murder his cell neighbor, a cannibal. Vincent is not allowed to defy this rule, neither against the drunk, the hooded man, nor the guardian Ozwin.

Trivia

It was the last film by Harald Leipnitz, who died of lung cancer on November 21, 2000 . The film was completed after his death.

criticism

“The numerous references should be understood as a kind of declaration of love and made Vortex one of the audience favorites at the Fantasy Film Festival 2001. In particular, production design and special effects are surprisingly extremely successful and even let a touch of Hollywood blow over the film. Sunnyboy Hardy Krüger Jr., who tries hard in the main role, is less than convincing, but is hopelessly inferior to seasoned warhorses like Harald Leipnitz. "
