Police Inspection 1 is a police and family series that was broadcast for the first time on October 1, 1977 on ARD (on behalf of Bayerischer Rundfunk ). It depicts the daily work and the private life of police officers in the area of responsibility of the Munich Police Department 1 in a humorous and entertaining way.

After series such as Das Kriminalmuseum , Der Kommissar and Derrick mit Polizeiinspektion 1, producer Helmut Ringelmann created the fourth, which, however, stood out because the interpersonal relationships between the characters and not the - mostly harmless - criminal cases were in the foreground. It was produced from 1977 to 1988 with a total of 130 episodes.

Characteristic of the series is its cast with numerous and regularly recurring Bavarian folk actors in different supporting roles. In addition to the main character of the grumpy service group leader Franz Schöninger ( Walter Sedlmayr ), Toni Berger , Willy Harlander , Karl Obermayr , Hans Brenner , Enzi Fuchs , Ruth Drexel and Willy Schultes should be mentioned here.

The title music was composed by Eugen Thomass .

content

Shift leader is Inspector Franz Schöninger, a correct and know-it-all policeman with a “golden Munich heart” who sometimes overlooks small everyday sins. He is in command of the calm and thoughtful hobby painter Bertl Moosgruber and the young, personable Helmut Heinl. Schöninger usually only addresses his employees by their last name, but they usually answer with "Franz". In cheerful everyday situations they have to master tricksters, thieves or pub thugs. Often they encounter interpersonal conflicts in their investigations, which they help to resolve with great sensitivity and warmth.

Schöninger tries to keep things under control in his rented apartment in Munich, but his lovable wife Elisabeth (he simply calls her "Mama") and his enterprising son Karli have their own mind. Due to her open-heartedness, Helmut's wife Ilona regularly finds herself in delicate situations in which the men from the inspection are happy to assist her. The young couple has a baby daughter named Susi. Moosgruber is still a bachelor and is on the lookout for the woman for life, but cannot find anything lasting.

In the first few seasons, Ms. Gmeinwieser appears in the inspection almost every day. The elderly lady spreads rumors, denounces the neighborhood and prevents the police from working; she always succeeds in keeping the police busy. Mrs. Vogel, the cleaning lady in the inspection, has to let Schöninger chase her around again and again.

During the first few years, Beppo Brem played the role of Schöninger's superior, Chief Inspector Hölzlmüller; later Dieter Eppler took over the role of the Ulm inspector Heinrich.
