Eugene Thomass

Eugen Thomass (born December 24, 1927 in Munich ; † January 21, 2009 in Winterthur , Switzerland ) was a German film composer .

Live and act

Thomass has been writing music for film and television since the early 1960s. His work includes music for the television film Orden für die Wunderkinder (1963), the series Graf Yoster gives himself the honor (1967), the biography Karl May (1974), the series Police Inspection 1 (1977), the series These Drombuschs ( 1983) and the fantastic TV film Sugar - A Really Sweet Disaster . In this context, his long-term collaboration with director Rainer Erler deserves special mention. In 1982 Eugen Thomass won the musical prize of the city of Hagen ; Udo Jürgens was one of the jurors . Kasi und Cress was the name of the work that Thomass had submitted and that was realized in the same year and premiered in Hagen.

Eugen Thomass largely withdrew from the music scene in old age. He last lived in Switzerland and also had a domicile in Ménerbes, France . He was buried in the Grünwald forest cemetery.

Eugen Thomass is the great-uncle of the actress Rosalie Thomass .
