Udo Thomer (born October 3, 1945 in Regensburg , † January 12, 2006 in Munich ) was a German folk actor .

Life

After his acting and stage training at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich, Thomer had engagements at the state theaters in Oldenburg and Hanover , at the Thalia Theater in Hamburg , in Stuttgart and Munich. Udo Thomer also belonged to the ensembles of the Salzburg Festival , the Luisenburg Festival in Wunsiedel and the Castle Festival in Mayen .

Since the end of the 1970s , the actor has appeared in numerous well-known television series, including The Millionaire Farmer (with Walter Sedlmayr ), Buddenbrooks , Irgendwie und Sowieso , Löwengrube and Forsthaus Falkenau . He became known nationwide for his role as clumsy police officer Anton Pfeiffer in over 30 episodes of the series Der Bulle von Tölz at the side of Ottfried Fischer and Katerina Jacob . He also had roles in German film, for example in Loriot's Ödipussi and Pappa ante portas .

He also performed solo: with his Karl Valentin evening program Meaningful and Nonsensical or with readings, most recently accompanied by his son David musically (classical guitar).

Thomer last lived in the Munich district of Perlach . On January 2, 2006, he fell down a staircase in a Munich restaurant and suffered severe head injuries. He was admitted to the Rechts der Isar Clinic , where he died 10 days later. On January 18, 2006, the actor was buried in the New South Cemetery in Munich .
