Elmar Wepper
Elmar Wepper (born April 16, 1944 in Augsburg ) is a German actor and voice actor . He is the younger brother of Fritz Wepper .
Life
His father was the lawyer Friedrich Karl Wepper, he has been missing in Poland since the beginning of 1945 . Elmar Wepper is the younger brother of Fritz Wepper ; He had his first small film appearance in 1957. At the age of 14 he played for the first time in the theater Die Kleine Freiheit , after having already worked on the radio . However, he actually wanted to study medicine. He graduated from high school and did his military service before he - also inspired by his brother - changed his mind and studied theater studies and German .
Initially, Wepper was primarily a stage actor and voice actor. In 1974 he established himself as a television actor when he succeeded his brother Fritz in the popular series Der Kommissar . He had particular success in the television series Police Inspection 1 , Somehow and Anyway , Our most beautiful years and Two Munich residents in Hamburg as a partner of Uschi Glas .
For his role as cancer patient who is confronted with the sudden death of his wife in Doris Dörrie's film Kirschblüten - Hanami , Elmar Wepper received the Bavarian Film Prize 2007 and the German Film Prize 2008 for "Best Actor". In the same year he was also nominated for the European Film Award 2008 .
Wepper is much in demand as a voice actor; he lent his voice to international stars such as Mel Gibson , Dudley Moore , Gene Wilder and Ryan O'Neal . Even Walter Koenig , better known as Chekov in Star Trek , was voiced by Elmar Wepper in the series as in the movies. He also voiced the veterinarian James Herriot in the first three seasons of the TV series The Doctor and the Dear Cattle .
Elmar Wepper is married and has one son. Today he lives in Planegg .

Elmar Wepper is involved in the Advisory Board of the Tabaluga Children's Foundation for Children in Need and is the officially appointed ambassador for the German José Carreras Leukemia Foundation .
