Location of the municipality of Planegg in the district of Munich | ||
Planegg is a municipality in the Upper Bavarian district of Munich . It is located southwest of the city limits of Munich in the Würm Valley .
geography
Planegg is a municipality in the Würmtal on the border of the districts of Munich and Starnberg in the Munich gravel plain . It consists of the outskirts of Planegg, the village of Martinsried , the former hamlet of Steinkirchen, which has grown together structurally with the part of the municipality of Planegg, and the Maria Eich monastery . Planegg borders clockwise from the north on Graefelfing , the Munich district of Großhadern , Neuried , the foundation forest Forst Kasten , Krailling in the district of Starnberg and Germering in the district of Fürstenfeldbruck .
history
Until the 18th century
While Martinsried was mentioned in the 12th century and Steinkirchen in the 13th century in the documents of the Dietramszell and Benediktbeuern monasteries , Planegg is probably the youngest place name in the entire Würmtal. It was first mentioned in 1409 in a sales deed to the Bavarian Duke Wilhelm III. mentioned.
On October 1, 1425, Duke Wilhelm gave this newly acquired property and the associated communities of Großhadern , Martinsried, Forstenried , Fürstenried , Neuried and Graefelfing to his illegitimate son Konrad von Egenhofen , Planegg becomes Hofmark . As the seat of the court administration, the place was the center and court seat for the middle Würmtal. Lochham was added in 1442, Fronloh in 1720 and Krailling in 1724 .
The municipality of Martinsried was not only subordinate to the town of Planegg: The landlord - the Dietramszell monastery - also demanded money for the maintenance of the monastery and a tenth of all income had to be given to the church.
In 1733 the landlord, Baron von Ruffin, built the Maria Eich chapel in gratitude for the recovery of a day laborer from the farm farmer .
19th century
The 19th century brought a great boom for Planegg. In 1851 the community committee at that time was able to determine:
- “Planegg, an extremely frequent place of pilgrimage , enjoys an ever-increasing influx of strangers from year to year, who come here for relaxation and fun, but especially to strengthen their health, and their current residence here at the beginning of the favorable season crack open. The mild and healthy climate of Planegg, the artfully applied Würm water, which turns out to be extremely beneficial, make the stay one of the most pleasant, which is joined by a direct connection with the capital through a parking car ride offered twice a day. "
Planegg had become a place of recreation and amusement for Munich , the construction of the Pasing - Starnberg railroad in 1854 increased this importance even further. With the law of June 4, 1848 on the repeal of patrimonial jurisdiction , the municipality was allowed to administer itself for the first time. At the end of the 19th century the population grew so quickly (within 5 years it had more than doubled) that in 1900 a new town hall had to be built for the now 1339 citizens , which was also used as such until 1995.
20th century
After the people of Planegg received pastoral care from the Martinsried parish church until the beginning of the 20th century , Planegg received its first parish church, St. Elisabeth , in 1920 .
Between 1970 and 1972 the Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry and Neurobiology (formerly Psychiatry ) was established in the Martinsried district . In the meantime, many other companies have settled here, including the Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich .
