The ADVA Optical Networking SE legally established in Meiningen and administration in the Bavarian Martinsried in Munich is a multinational provider of telecommunications equipment, particularly for fiber-based transmission technology.

history
ADVA Optical Networking was founded in 1994 as a small startup by former leading employees from the microelectronics company Robotron Meiningen in Meiningen and Munich. A subsidiary in the United States and agencies in France and the United Kingdom were added in 1996 . In the next few years further branches followed, as well as several takeovers and further product generations were brought onto the market. Since 1997, the company has focused on WDM technology . The first IPO followed on March 29, 1999 in Frankfurt am Main . Further production facilities were set up in Meiningen in 2000/2001 and 2006. In 2010 ADVA was the first company to offer telecommunications companies everyday products for 100 gigabit transmission.
Products
The main production area of ADVA Optical Networking SE is fiber optic and mobile data transmission technology. Its products include equipment for scalable optical transport, demarcation and aggregation devices for Carrier - Ethernet services, disaggregated network elements and devices for network virtualization and fiber monitoring. In addition, in the 2010s , the company worked with the Heinrich Hertz Institute to develop an inexpensive poly transceiver for mobile communications , which, installed in masts and routers, forms the basis for 5G data transmission at up to 10 gigabits per second.
Stock exchange
Between September 2006 and March 2008, as well as between September 2010 and March 2014 and between June 2015 and March 2018, the company's share was listed on the TecDAX . They have been on the SDAX since March 18, 2019 .
