The Zooplus AG (proper spelling zooplus ), headquartered in Munich, operates an Internet trading platform for pet supplies. In addition to the online shop , an online information service on the subject of pets and a community are also operated.

In a self-presentation, the company describes itself as the “leading internet retailer for pet supplies” and justifies this with a total performance (Europe-wide) of 1.111 billion euros in 2017. Zooplus AG was founded on June 28, 1999. The company's share was listed on May 9, 2008 without the issue of new shares in the Entry Standard segment of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (“ Cold IPO ”) and was later included in the Entry Standard Index . Also in 2008 the legal seat was relocated from Unterföhring to Munich . The central warehouse is located in Hörselgau in Thuringia . As of December 31, 2008, the company employed 79 people and achieved sales of 80.34 million euros.

On October 22, 2009 there was a switch to the Prime Standard . As of December 31, 2009, the number of employees increased to 108. In the same period, sales rose by more than 60 percent to 127.71 million euros. The share has been listed on the SDAX since July 29, 2011 .

Awards

In 2002, the company was awarded the German Internet Prize from BITKOM on the key topic of medium- sized companies on the Internet in the category of value-added company presentation on the Internet .

In 2013, Zooplus received the online retail award in the area of ​​pet supplies.
