The WashTec AG is a manufacturer of car wash equipment , headquartered in Augsburg . According to its own information, it is the global market leader for complete and service solutions in the area of vehicle washing and achieved total sales of EUR 436.5 (435.4) million in 2019 (2018) with around 1,800 employees. WashTec AG has subsidiaries and trading partners in 80 countries. The core market is Germany with a 40 percent share of sales. The company is listed in the Prime Standard market segment of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange .

history

The original company, Kleindienst GmbH & Co. KG , was founded by Hans Kleindienst in Augsburg in 1885 . The company manufactured systems for large laundries and then also specialized in the production of elevators . The company expanded in the following years through the development of new machines, which made work easier in the laundries. After the turn of the century, it moved from Kurzen Sachsengässchen to a larger area of an insolvent foundry in Argonstrasse in Augsburg. During the Second World War , the company was largely destroyed. Hans Kleindienst jun. continued the production of laundry machines and developed a new carousel press for washing machines.

With the mass production of passenger cars, Kleindienst GmbH & Co. KG changed its fields of activity in 1964 and specialized in the development and production of washing tunnels and systems. With the invention of the first electrically powered three-brush gantry washing system, the company achieved market leadership in Europe.

With the integration into the Osorno investor group , there was a merger between the Kleindienst company and California Rohé GmbH in 1996 . The newly founded California Kleindienst GmbH continued to manufacture car wash systems until another company merger took place four years later. With Wesumat Holding AG , a company in the field of vehicle cleaning was added in 2000. This is how WashTec AG came into being . In 2008 WashTec AG acquired the laundry chemicals manufacturer AUWA-Chemie GmbH .

WashTec AG's product range includes gantry washing systems for cars, commercial vehicle washing systems, self-service washing technology, car washes, water treatment systems and washing chemicals. In the technical area, the group of companies now also acts as a software manufacturer for the management of car wash services.
