The Dr. Hönle AG is an international company in the field of UV technology for industrial applications. It develops, produces and sells UV systems, UV lamps and UV measurement technology.

history

The company was founded in 1976 by Karl Hönle and Günter Schmid as a partnership . In the following year, the corporate form was changed from a GbR to a GmbH . In 1980 the first UV irradiation devices for industrial applications were developed. In 1991 and 1992, the Dr. K. Hönle Produktions GmbH, then Dr. K. Hönle Medizintechnik GmbH founded. In 1994 the sales company Honle UV America Inc. was founded. In 1998 the French subsidiary Honle UV France Sarl and the subsidiary Aladin GmbH (UV lamp manufacturer) were founded as well as the Dr. K. Hönle Medizintechnik GmbH sold. In the same year it was converted into an AG and in 2001 the company went public. In 2002 the Dr. Hönle Resident Representative Office in Shanghai and Dr. Hönle AG moved into its new company building in Graefelfing, which is still the headquarters of the Hönle Group today.

In 2008, Hönle took over the Panacol Group (Panacol-Elosol GmbH, Eleco Panacol - EFD), an adhesive specialist, and Eltosch GmbH (sheet-fed offset) and PrintConcept GmbH (rotary printing), two drying system manufacturers for the printing industry. In 2009 the Hönle Group opened another branch in the USA, Eltosch America Inc. In 2010, Hönle took over the majority of UV-Technik Speziallampen GmbH. In 2011 the sales office Italy (Pavia) was opened and the Dr. Hönle Resident Representative Office in Hoenle UV Technology (Shanghai) Trading Ltd.

In 2012, Dr. Hönle AG holds a majority stake in the Raesch Group, consisting of Raesch Quarz (Germany) GmbH, Langwiesen and Raesch Quarz (Malta) Ltd., Malta. The group of companies manufactures tubes and semi-finished products from quartz glass. Grafix GmbH has been part of the Hönle Group since 2013. It is a manufacturer of peripheral devices for sheet-fed offset printing, e.g. B. for drying, powder application, temperature control and conditioning when applying paint. With retroactive effect from October 1, 2013, Grafix GmbH, Stuttgart and Eltosch Torsten Schmidt GmbH, Hamburg, were merged to form Eltosch Grafix GmbH. In the second quarter of 2013/2014, the American subsidiary Eltosch America Inc., Batavia, IL, USA, was renamed Eltosch Grafix America Inc., Batavia, IL, USA. In 2015, the adhesives market segment was strengthened by two new subsidiaries: Panacol-Korea and Panacol-USA.

Fields of application

The company is one of the leading international suppliers of industrial UV technology and develops, produces and sells UV systems, UV lamps, UV measurement technology and electronic ballasts worldwide. The product portfolio also includes UV LED products and systems as well as inert UV systems. The UV systems are used for the cross-linking of photo-reactive substances as well as for surface disinfection and sun simulation. The products are used in manufacturing processes in electronics, microelectronics, precision mechanics and optics, in the printing, automotive, aviation and pharmaceutical industries as well as in test procedures in the photovoltaic industry.

In addition, infrared and hot air drying systems, dusting systems (Eltosch Grafix), UV low and medium pressure lamps (Aladin), UV emitters for air, water and surface disinfection (UV technology special lamps), as well as high-tech Adhesives for medical technology and other industrial applications (Panacol) developed, produced and sold.
