wallstreet: online is a stock exchange portal and according to its own information is Germany's largest online community in the financial sector with around 1.4 million unique users and 26.7 million page impressions and 4.2 million visitors per month (as of 2019). history

Today's wallstreet: online AG, based in Berlin , emerged from GIS Wirtschaftsdaten GmbH, which was founded in 1998. The main business activity was the marketing of the finance portal wallstreet-online.de .

After GIS Wirtschaftsdaten GmbH was renamed wallstreet: online GmbH in 2000, the legal form changed to a stock corporation in the same year . In 2000 the company placed two capital increases and was able to win the venture capital companies 3i and T-Venture as shareholders . In 2003 the Kolbinger family took over all the shares that had been held by the financial investors up to that point. From 2003 to the end of 2004 the company was restructured and reorganized under the leadership of André Kolbinger.

In February 2006, the shares of wallstreet: online AG were included in the open market (Open Standard) of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange . In May 2007, the majority of the shares in wallstreet: online AG were taken over by Axel Springer Finanz Verlag GmbH . The change to the Entry Standard followed in the same year. In April 2009, Axel Springer Financial Media increased its stake in wallstreet: online to 75.01% (previously 71.9%). As it became known on May 14, 2010, Axel Springer AG has sold its stakes in wallstreet: online AG. The 75.01% share of the financial community went back into the hands of the founder and former board member André Kolbinger.

At the beginning of 2018, wallstreet: online acquired Markets Inside Media GmbH. In February 2019, the company took over ABC New Media AG from Zurich, which operates the website FinanzNachrichten.de , which specializes in business news , and ARIVA.DE AG was taken over on June 24, 2019 . On August 21, 2019 Wallstreet Online bought a 90% stake in Smart Investor Media GmbH . On December 16, 2019, Wallstreet Online AG announced that it would enter the transaction business with a cooperation agreement with Smartbroker.

Board members are Stefan Zmojda (CEO), Michael Bulgrin and Oliver Haugk. The chairman of the supervisory board is André Kolbinger.
