Brunnthal is a municipality in the Upper Bavarian district of Munich . It extends on the Munich gravel plain south of the state capital Munich .

The place is known nationwide because of the Munich-Süd motorway junction in the municipality , which was formerly known as the "Brunnthal triangle".

Community structure

There are ten officially named parts of the municipality (the type of settlement is given in brackets ):

Brunnthal, Kirchstockach with Neukirchstockach, Waldbrunn and the Gudrunsiedlung, Otterloh as well as Hofolding and Faistenhaar are the main settlement areas in the clearing islands of the Deisenhofen and Hofoldinger forest .

history

Until the church is planted

The community belonged to the Wolfratshausen district court . The present part of the municipality Hofolding was part of the electoral Hofmark Grünwald . Brunnthal and Hofolding became independent political communities in the course of the administrative reforms in the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1818.

Incorporations

St. Nicholas in Brunnthal

On May 1, 1978, as part of the municipal reform, the previously independent municipality of Hofolding was incorporated. With the incorporation of part of the Hofoldinger Forest on January 1, 2011, the area of ​​the municipality increased by 11.16 km².

Population development

Between 1988 and 2018, the community grew from 3,265 to 5,546 by 2,281 inhabitants or 69.9%.

Religions

The Catholic parish of Brunnthal was formed from the previous Kuratien Brunnthal and Hofolding-Faistenhaar. Catholic churches and chapels can be found in Brunnthal (Sankt Nikolaus), Hofolding ( Holy Cross and Marienkapelle), Faistenhaar ( Sankt Peter and Paul ) and Kirchstockach (Sankt Georg). Since the merger of the parish association Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn with the parish St. Nikolaus Brunnthal on September 1, 2012, the parish St. Nikolaus Brunnthal has been looked after by Pastor Anton Wolf from Höhenkirchen. Father Marek Bula OMI, who looked after the parish of St. Nikolaus Brunnthal from 2008 to 2012, moved to the Erdweg parish association . The district of Otterloh is looked after by the parish of Sauerlach. The Brunnthal parish does not have its own Evangelical Lutheran parish and is looked after by the Kreuz-Christi parish in Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn.

Business

Brunnthal is also known for the “Brunnthal Nord” industrial park, in which many medium-sized companies have settled. There is also a depot of the company Busbetrieb Josef Ettenhuber . The industrial park also houses an IKEA furniture store , a Hagebau store and a Metro wholesaler .

Infrastructure

The bus line 244 connects Brunnthal with Sauerlach and together with the bus line 216 with Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn.
