The Josef Ettenhuber bus company is a transport company that operates in local public transport and coach transport .

history

Bus tourism in the post-war period (1950)

The company was founded in 1945 by Josef Ettenhuber senior, who took over the route from Glonn to Grafing near Munich in a regular service with a wood gasifier bus . In 1989 the company with four buses was transferred to Busreisen Ettenhuber GmbH, which had been founded by the son 20 years earlier. Further companies were added in the following years: Busreisen Angerer in Wasserburg am Inn , Busreisen Kormann in Kirchseeon and Weiß-Blau-Reisen in Unterhaching . Ettenhuber has been a service provider in the Munich Transport and Tariff Association since 1979 .

For the third generation change in December 2004, Josef, Wolfgang and Michael Ettenhuber joined Busbetrieb Josef Ettenhuber GmbH as additional partners in leading positions. Josef Ettenhuber took over the sole management in 2009.

In regular service, the bus company transports passengers on around 30 lines in the MVV in the city of Munich , the district of Munich , the district of Ebersberg and the district of Freising . The lines include u. a. the MVV bus route 210 Neuperlach Süd - Ottobrunn - Brunnthal, which is one of the three bus routes in the Munich district with the highest volume of traffic.

In school and company traffic, the buses are on the road in the region between Munich and Wasserburg. To increase safety in school bus traffic, school bus briefings are also carried out for students.

In tourist traffic, vacationers from the Munich region are transported to European metropolises or round trips are carried out with modern coaches and long-distance coaches. The buses can also be chartered.

There are a total of 132 buses of various makes in the fleet . 14 long-distance coaches are offered for national and international travel.

The bus operation Josef Ettenhuber took in September 2008 as the first private bus operators in Germany a hybrid of the brand Solaris Urbino 18 Hybrid in operation. Use on the MVV line 210 ended in 2017. In 2011, a Solaris Urbino 12 Hybrid was added as a second hybrid, which mainly operated on the MVV regional bus line 220.

In December 2019, the bus company Josef Ettenhuber GmbH was the first Bavarian private bus company to put 3 Solaris Urbino 12 electric buses into operation on the MVV regional bus route 232. In total, the company put 51 new buses into operation in 2019.

The introduction of hydrogen-powered buses is planned.

Depots

The original depot in Glonn- Schlacht was replaced in 1999 by a larger new building on a neighboring property. On the site of the original depot, a residential building is now being built for bus drivers who are recruited from Eastern Europe because job offers in Germany were not received.

In 2012, the Ettenhuber company built another base for 35 buses and coaches in Feldkirchen (Munich district) near Munich. There is also a public electric charging station in the depot. A bus terminal with a departure lounge has been set up for coach traffic.

In 2016, the Ettenhuber company built another base for 40 buses in Brunnthal (Munich district) near Munich. From here, the MVV regional bus routes in the communities of Ottobrunn, Neubiberg, Taufkirchen, Brunnthal u. a. hazards.
