Coat of arms and flag

A green conifer with roots in gold on green ground, topped with a blue clearing hoe and a blue clearing ax with black handles in an oblique intersection.

The conifer refers to the geographic location of the community on the northern edge of Forstenrieder Park, a large forest area south of Munich. The clearing tools speak for the place name Neuried and at the same time document the genesis of Neuried as a high medieval clearing settlement of the Rottenbuch monastery in the forest southwest of Munich.

With the coat of arms, the municipality has also adopted its own flag with the colors green and yellow. The community uses a green and yellow flag with a coat of arms.

Culture and sights

Games have been running in the newly built sports and recreation center since the end of 2007. This was necessary to replace the overcrowded old soccer field and the small hall of the elementary school. The sports center has a large artificial turf pitch, a large grass pitch and a five-a-side football pitch. In addition, a triple gym and a restaurant are housed on the premises. At the end of 2008, a senior citizens' residential complex was built next to the newly built Catholic parish center.

The St. Nikolaus Catholic parish center planned by the Munich architect Andreas Meck was handed over to the community in 2008. Rudolf Bott designed the concrete altar island. A spherical cross designed by Andreas Meck with a height and width of 15 meters was set up in front of the parish center in 2009.

The old parish church of St. Nikolaus is a late Gothic hall building with a Romanesque core .
