The church village Faistenhaar is part of the municipality of Brunnthal in the south of the Upper Bavarian district of Munich , which formed the independent municipality of Hofolding until April 30, 1978 with the neighboring village of Hofolding . In 1987 the place had 467 inhabitants.

location

Faistenhaar in 1959

Faistenhaar lies on the Munich gravel plain with Hofolding in a cleared island. The St 2070 from Sauerlach to Aying and the St 2367 / M 8 from Höhenkirchen to Kreuzstraße lead through the village. Faistenhaar and Hofolding were 1000 meters apart until well into the post-war years, but now only the common sports grounds of TSV Hofolding between them prevent the two places from growing together.

history

Farmhouse, Ottobrunner Strasse 7

Faistenhaar, whose place name means settlement on the fat, fertile forest, was mentioned for the first time in 1189 in a document from the Schäftlarn monastery. The next mention of the place was in 1315 under the place name "Waitzenhart". In 1315 the Faistenhaarer Filialkirche, still with the old patronage of St. Sylvester, was first recorded. Construction began on the new Church of St Peter and Paul in 1683, but it could only be handed over to its intended purpose in 1735, as the final completion took years due to local difficulties and the lack of financial support. In order to ensure compulsory schooling and to save the children the long journeys to school, a school was set up for Hofolding, Dürrnhaar and Faistenhaar in a building in Faistenhaar in 1875. The two villages had just merged into an independent community. In 1950 Faistenhaar had 431 residents. On May 1, 1978, Hofolding and Faistenhaar were incorporated into the municipality of Brunnthal as part of the municipal reform.
