Großhadern (in the Hadern district ) is a district in the southwest of the Bavarian capital, Munich . Großhadern is primarily a middle-class residential area. Exceptions are the so-called "village center" with numerous small shops within walking distance and the university district around the Großhadern Clinic . This also includes several student dormitories and three football fields . The number of restaurants and beer gardens is also remarkably high. In the south-west of Großhadern, between the Klinikum Großhadern underground station and the adjacent forest, a new settlement with owner-occupied and rental apartments and a few shops is being built on a former field. Many of the houses have already been completed and occupied.

In the center of the village is the old church of St. Peter (built in 1315, redesigned in the 17th century), not far from it is the parish church of St. Canisius with stations of the cross by Kaspar Schleibner , built in 1925 . The Protestant community has its home in the Reformation Memorial Church.

The forest cemetery occupies a substantial part of the area of Großhadern in the southwest .
