TSV Munich Großhadern
The TSV Munich-Grosshadern 1926 eV is a sports club in Munich district rag with more than 3,000 members (as of 2018). Like many classic sports clubs, it is divided into several subdivisions. The currently 10 branches include the following sports: Aikido, mountain sports, football, fitness and gymnastics, health sports and prevention, handball, judo, tennis, gymnastics and volleyball. There is also a weight room with a gym.
Mountain sports
The mountain sports department offers hikes and mountain tours at least once a month, but there are also ski trips and bike tours. In addition, every Monday there is a one-hour Nordic walking tour followed by a regulars' table and a social evening for a club every month.
Judo
The judo department founded in 1949 is an integral part of the association. She won the Munich City Cup just a year later and in 1951 in Frankfurt am Main, Josef Heitzer, was the first individual featherweight champion in the Federal Republic of Germany after World War II. The first German team championship title followed in 1968, followed by more in 1970, 1971, 1980, 1981, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1988 and 2001. This makes TSV Großhadern one of the most successful German judo teams.
Since 1972, judoka of TSV München-Großhadern have regularly participated in Olympic competitions , with the exception of 1980, 1988 and 2008. For medals at the Olympic Games for the judo department, Paul Barth provided bronze in 1972 , silver in 1984 and bronze in 1988 Günther Neureuther and in 1992 and 1996 each with bronze Richard Trautmann .
In 1993 Johanna Hagn brought the world championship title to Munich, in 2003 Florian Wanner succeeded .
The TSV judoka also stood on the podium several times at the European Championships and won the title in 1967 ( Gerd Egger ), 1984 (Günther Neureuther) and 1991 ( Katharina Binger ).
In November 2018, the club announced the withdrawal of both its men and the women's team from the Bundesliga . The decision was made for financial reasons. The funds required for league operations are invested in other judo projects.

The football department was one of the strongest amateur clubs in Munich in the 1980s. 1986 succeeded with the championship title in the Landesliga Süd the promotion to the Bayernliga . There, however, the team missed relegation and was immediately relegated.
do gymnastics
The gymnastics department has always been part of TSV München Großhadern. In addition to the offer, which is aimed purely at recreational athletes, there are also competition groups for boys and girls in the gymnastics department, in individual competitions or in team competitions. The first experiences can be gained in parent-child gymnastics. With the age of preschool or school, it is decided whether you stay in popular sport or switch to competitive gymnastics. In the gymnastics department at TSV München Großhadern, the area of dancing with ballet and hip-hop is also located.
