Martinsried campus
The Martinsried campus is a campus of research institutions in the Martinsried district of the Upper Bavarian municipality of Planegg in the immediate vicinity of the Munich district of Großhadern . It houses (as of the end of 2014) the Biozentrum of the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich (LMU), the Innovation and Start- up Center for Biotechnology (IZB), the Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry and the Max Planck Institute for Neurobiology . The Großhadern campus of the LMU Klinikum is in the immediate vicinity . According to its own account, the campus is "one of the largest centers in Europe, in which basic scientific research, teaching, clinical research and technological innovation are brought together."
Several biotech companies such as Morphosys are located near the campus.
