Our happiest years is a television series by Franz Geiger for ZDF . Between 1983 and 1985 there were 12 episodes, each 45 minutes in length, which were broadcast in the evening program.

In this series, too, Helmut Fischer played the Munich suburb Casanova, a character that he had already convincingly embodied in Monaco Franze and later portrayed again in The Caretaker .

The title song "Give Me Your Love" was a big hit in 1983, it was composed and interpreted by Frank Duval .

The saleswoman Elfi Ortlieb always ends up with the wrong men until the young woman finally gets to know the independent master carpenter Raimund Sommer from the Munich suburbs.

Only after heated arguments does Elfi's ex-lover Herbert Dirscherl give up. Little by little, a friendship even develops between Herbert and the new couple Elfi and Raimund.

Raimund's carpenter's workshop got into financial difficulties, but a large order brought about the change. Finally he gives up the old joinery and switches to assembly line production. Business is booming and this is a test of the summer marriage.
