German Film Critics' Prize

The German Film Critics' Prize is an award given by the Association of German Film Critics to the best German films that were shown in cinemas in the previous calendar year. The price of the German film critics is the only German Film Award , the only of film critics awarded. The announcement and award of the prizes will take place during the Berlinale .

The German Film Critics' Prize was awarded in changing categories between 1957 and 1968, since 1969 in the categories of best feature film and best short film , since 1980 in the category of best documentary , since 1981 in the category of best experimental film , since 2000 in the categories of best actor and best Actress , since 2001 in the categories Best Screenplay , Best Cinematography , Best Music , Best Editing and Best Feature Film Debut and since 2012 in the Best Children's Film category. A special award or honorary award has also been awarded since 2006.
