Thomas Riedelsheimer

Thomas Riedelsheimer (* 1963 ) is a German director , cameraman and film editor .

Life

He studied at the University of Television and Film in Munich . His films, usually documentaries , deal with a wide range of topics. They usually take up the whole evening and often make it to the cinema. He is a member of the German Film Academy and the European Film Academy . Since 2007 he has been a lecturer at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy , Ludwigsburg.

Thomas Riedelsheimer lives in Munich, is married and has two children.

Awards

Riedelsheimer's work has received numerous awards, including the Adolf Grimme Gold Prize (for Sponsae Christi - Christ's Brides ), the German Video Art Prize, the City of Munich Film Prize , the German Camera Prize, the FIFA Grand Prize in Montreal, the San Francisco Grand Prize and the San Diego Critics' Circle Prize for Best Documentary. Riedelsheimer has received the German Film Prize three times in various categories.
