Maximilian Erlenwein

Maximilian Erlenwein (born August 22, 1975 in Berlin ) is a German film director and screenwriter .

Life

Maximilian Erlenwein studied sociology and media studies in Marburg. He then worked as a freelance cameraman for documentaries and TV contributions. In 1999 he started studying directing at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (dffb). In 2005, Erlenwein founded Fat Lady Filmproduktion with Robin von Hardenberg, based in Berlin. His feature film debut Schwerkraft with Fabian Hinrichs and Jürgen Vogel in the leading roles won the First Steps Award and the Max Ophüls Prize , among others . Erlenwein's second feature film, the psychological thriller Stereo , unites Jürgen Vogel and Moritz Bleibtreu in the leading roles. The film premiered in the Panorama section of the Berlinale 2014 and started on 15/16. May of the year in German and Austrian cinemas.
