Jürgen Peter Vogel (born April 29, 1968 in Hamburg ) is a German actor , screenwriter , comedian , film producer and singer .

Life

Jürgen Vogel is the son of a Hamburg waiter and a housewife. He grew up with three siblings in Hamburg-Schnelsen . When he was nine, he posed for children's fashion at Otto-Versand . He moved out of home at the age of 15. After graduating from secondary school , he attended an acting school in Munich for a day and moved to Berlin in 1985/1986 , where he lived in a shared apartment with actor Richy Müller for two years. According to his own account, he was also inspired by the film Taxi Driver with Robert De Niro .

At irregular intervals he found engagements as an actor in film and television productions, in addition he worked in various jobs such as cook in a large kitchen, deliverer of parcels at the post office and minder at a party service. His breakthrough came in 1992 with Sönke Wortmann's film Kleine Haie .

At the beginning of the 1990s he played mostly juvenile or petty bourgeois delinquents in numerous television films . In 1996 he founded the Schwarzweiss Filmproduktion in Berlin together with Matthias Glasner . He played a serial killer in the film Sexy Sadie , produced by this company . In 2006 he received a Silver Bear for his overall performance as an actor, co-author and co-producer of the film The Free Will .

In 2003 he was one of the founding members of the German Film Academy .

Vogel had a daughter in 1988. In 1998 he married a woman who brought two sons into the marriage and with whom he has had another daughter since 1999. He and his fiancée, actress Natalia Belitski , have had a daughter since January 2019.

From 2014 to 2015 he promoted the outdoor outfitter Jack Wolfskin .

Hansen Band

For the semi-documentary music film No Songs About Love , Vogel founded the initially fictional Hansen Band together with Thees Uhlmann , Marcus Wiebusch , Felix Gebhard and Max Schröder in 2005 . This toured twice before the film officially launched. On October 21, 2005, their album No songs about love was released .
