Hans-Jürgen "Richy" Müller (born September 26, 1955 in Mannheim ) is a German actor . He became known in 1979 with the three-part TV series Die große Flatter and plays, among others, the Stuttgart Tatort commissioner Thorsten Lannert .

life and work

Müller was born in Mannheim and grew up in the Seckenheim district . As a trained toolmaker , he attended the drama school in Bochum for two years and then moved to Berlin . With his role in the three-part television series Die große Flatter as a teenager Richy, who lives in a homeless community on the outskirts of Berlin, made his breakthrough as an actor in 1979. He made the publicly attached role name Richy his stage name.

This was followed by other roles in film productions such as Reinhard Hauff's The Man on the Wall , Roland Emmerich's The Noah's Ark Principle and Egon Günther's Rosamunde . Müller was committed to portraying rough macho types before devoting himself primarily to the theater in the 1980s. He returned to film with Rainer Kaufmann's one of my oldest friends . In different genres he played, among others, in Irren is masculine by Sherry Hormann , Farland by Michael Klier , The inner security by Christian Petzold and in Vier Minuten by Chris Kraus .

A trip to Hollywood movies he made in 2002 with the role of Milan Sova in Rob Cohen's Triple X . In the same year Dieter Wedel cast him as Charly Wiesner for his multi-part television series Die Affäre Semmeling . Since 2008, Müller can be seen alongside Felix Klare as crime scene commissioner for the SWR in Stuttgart as chief commissioner Thorsten Lannert . For his role as estate manager in Chris Kraus' feature film Poll (2010), he was awarded the German Film Prize for the best male supporting role in 2011 . In 2013 he played the leading role as Thilo Wagner in the Sat.1 refugee drama Welcome to the Club alongside Lisa Martinek .

In addition to acting, Müller is enthusiastic about motorsport. He drives car races with an international C license and competed in a Porsche 911 GT3 between 2011 and 2013 as part of the Porsche Cup . In 2011 and 2014 he was also an expert on the Eurosport broadcast of the 24 Hours of Le Mans . In 2012 and 2019 he presented a total of three episodes of the travel format Das ist mein ... on n-tv .

In addition, Müller is committed as an ambassador for Arche IntensivKinder. In May 2017 he was awarded the Order of Merit of the State of Baden-Württemberg by Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann for his social commitment. His daughter is the journalist Paulina Czienskowski .
