Rob Cohen (born March 12, 1949 in Cornwall , NY ) is an American director and film producer.

Life

Rob Cohen studied anthropology at Harvard University and worked on television productions while studying. In 1978 his own production company was founded. He produced, among other things, The Witches of Eastwick . He made his debut as a director in 1980 with the film Among good friends . He also worked on a number of television series, including Miami Vice . In 1993 he returned to the cinema with Dragon - The Bruce Lee Story and has made numerous successful films since then. One of the best known is xXx - Triple X with Vin Diesel in the lead role. He has short appearances in many of his films. He also wrote several scripts on the side, including for the horror film Das Ritual - Im Bann des Bad from 2001.

On August 7, 2008, The Mummy: The Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, a sequel to The Mummy Returns, was released in German cinemas. In 2012, a film based on the novels of the author James Patterson followed with Alex Cross . In 2015 the thriller The Boy Next Door was released with Jennifer Lopez in the lead role.
