Sherry Hormann
Sherry Hormann (born April 20, 1960 in Kingston , New York , USA ) is a German film and television director and screenwriter .
Life
Hormann is the daughter of the former IBM manager and management consultant John Hormann (born in Munich) and a German painter. She has lived in Germany since 1966, where she also went to school and graduated from high school. From 1979 to 1983 she studied at the University of Television and Film Munich . She then worked as a continuity and assistant director in various television and feature film productions. Since 1986 she has worked as a director , screenwriter and film set designer . She is also a lecturer at IFS Cologne and a member of the German Film Academy .
She was married to the director Dominik Graf , with whom she has a daughter. In October 2011 she married the cameraman Michael Ballhaus (1935-2017).
