A woman collapses on the subway. Cellist Paula (Jeanette Hain) and Dr. Georg Ellis (Richy Müller) take care of them. Paula soon imagines in the neurologist the love of her life, much to the chagrin of her neighbor, the rock guitarist Leonard (Martin Feifel). When Paula becomes pregnant, he finally sees his skins swim away. But then suddenly Georg has to go to New York.
