Hans-Günther Bücking

Hans-Günther Bücking (born September 20, 1951 in Bleicherode ) is a German cameraman and director .

Life

Born in the GDR , Bücking came to the Federal Republic of Germany in 1961 . After graduating, he first worked as a stonemason and sculptor . He later worked for Rainer Werner Fassbinder as a lighting technician and also as a camera assistant .

Bücking lives with his two sons in Munich . In 1999 his wife died. On September 30, 2011 he married the Austrian actress Marion Mitterhammer .

Services

Since 1983 Bücking has made around 60 films, more than 50 television films and numerous commercials. One of his most famous films is Jennerwein , a biography about a Bavarian poacher, shot in 2003 on behalf of Bavarian TV. Other well-known films are Schneeland (camera), for which he won the German Film Prize and the Bavarian Film Prize , Lebewohl, Fremde und Justiz , which was nominated for the 1994 Golden Globe Award as the best foreign language film . He was also behind the camera for films like Death Game and Solo for Clarinet . However, he is concentrating more and more on direction and camera, for example with Blackout - The memory is fatal , where he received the German Camera Prize for the episode Light .
