The strange behavior of sexually mature city dwellers during the mating season is a German romantic comedy from 1998, which was directed by Marc Rothemund .

action

The story of the film consists of several individual stories, all of which are interconnected:

  • The unsuccessful and desperate author Charly accidentally gets his publisher's Ferrari into his hands.
  • Charly's ex-wife Manuela falls in love with Sven, who she initially assumes has kidnapped her daughter Hanna.
  • Sven only borrowed the child from Manuela's actual babysitter Birgit as a flirtation factor.
  • Birgit, on the other hand, received a free ticket to a fitness studio for “child borrowing”, where she met the fitness trainer Jimmy.
  • The uptight Cornelia gets to know the extroverted Hilde while shopping and they both steal Charly's car together.
  • Cornelia's son Paul is now preparing for his “first time” with his girlfriend Sandra.
  • Jimmy falls in love at first sight with Peter, who is handing out flyers for a dance competition at the fitness club. Since only mixed-sex couples are allowed to take part in this competition, he is desperately looking for a dance partner to get closer to Peter at the competition. He finally finds one in Birgit. However, Birgit and Peter fall in love at the dance competition.
  • Manuela's sister Tamineh has a birthday and has to spend it alone. She meets the Italian Marcello on the roof of her house. He is about to kill himself because his girlfriend has left him for another man; he in turn turns out to be Tamineh's chronically unfaithful friend.

criticism

"A roundabout developed comedy of playful, playful unintentionality, which, with a rather casual charm, combines momentary descriptions of states into an entertaining, admittedly not particularly profound conversation."

Awards

  • Rothemund won the director's award at the 1999 Bavarian Film Prize

Others

The Ferrari in the film is a Ferrari Mondial t Cabriolet .
