Barbara von Weitershausen (born March 6, 1946 in Melsungen ) is a German film editor .

life and work

Barbara von Weitershausen grew up in Munich and joined the dubbing department of Beta Film GmbH in 1968 . In the early 1970s she became an assistant in the film editing department , and since the late 1970s she has been an independent editor. She has worked with a number of important directors , e. B. Wim Wenders , Klaus Lemke , Helke Sander and Heinrich Breloer . Her most frequent directing partner is Franziska Buch .

In 2007, Barbara von Weitershausen was nominated for the German Camera Prize in the category Best Editing TV Series for the episode Light of the TV series Blackout - The Memory is Deadly . In 2014 she was honored with the Geißendörfer Prize for her life's work at the Filmplus Festival in Cologne .
