action
A young Russian-German, torn between a new love and his criminal past, is fighting for a new beginning in Berlin. "Nemez" is how the young Russian-German Dima is called by his boss, the art thief Georgij. "Nemez" is Russian and means "German". Released from youth prison, Dima wants to start a new life in Berlin. But his past does not let him go: Georgij does not want to give up his services, and Dima's father, who does not feel at home in Germany, wants to return to Russia with his family. Only the love for the art student Nadja gives Dima hope, but his criminal connections threaten to doom both of them. Dima has to risk everything to find her way to herself.
Reviews
“With Stanislav Güntner's debut film Nemez , the young producers Maximilian Plettau, Torben Maas and Christian Füllmich from Nominal Film and 'Filmschaft maas & füllmich' have achieved an outstanding socio-political drama. The story of the young Russian-German Dima, who, against all odds, wants to leave his criminal past behind and hopes for a fresh start in Berlin, is characterized by a high level of authenticity. In 'Nemez' the constant struggle of many young immigrants between legality and illegality is staged in a multi-faceted manner. Until the end, the viewer is eager to see whether Dima will manage to break free from his criminal environment. The excellent acting performance of Mark Filatov leads to a high degree of identification with the main character. A gripping coming-of-age story in which, in addition to existential questions about identity and origin, love is also not neglected! "
"A clichéd film with countless conflicts and people, staged in a striking way and supplemented by a dramaturgically implausible Romeo and Juliet variant that lives up to its claim as a migration drama."
