Michael Schweighöfer

Michael Schweighöfer (born February 29, 1952 in Borna ) is a German actor and theater director .

Life

Michael Schweighöfer, son of the actor and director Willy Schweighöfer , attended the Rostock State Drama School . He is best known as a stage actor. After an engagement at the Kleist Theater Frankfurt (Oder) from 1981 to 1985, he has been part of the ensemble of the Deutsches Theater Berlin since then . His son Matthias Schweighöfer , who is also an actor, comes from his marriage (until 1984) to the actress Gitta Schweighöfer . Today he is married to Ines Schweighöfer (owner of an antique shop).

In August 2010 it became known that Schweighöfer worked from 1975 to 1977 during his military service with the NVA as an unofficial employee for the State Security Service of the GDR and provided information about the views of his comrades.
