Werner Buhss

Werner Buhss (born January 14, 1949 in Magdeburg ; † October 7, 2018 in Berlin ), pseudonym Wulf Weber , was a German writer , director and translator .

Life

Born in Magdeburg as the son of a doctor and a new teacher , Werner Buhss grew up in Frankfurt (Oder) and attended the extended secondary school here until the 11th grade (1965) . He began an apprenticeship and learned the trade of a steel fitter . At the same time he made his Abitur at the evening / adult education center .

1968/69 followed an assistant director at DEFA . From 1968 to 1973 Werner Buhss studied at the Potsdam Film and Television Academy in Babelsberg . In 1975/81 he worked as a theater director (including Eisleben , Rudolstadt , Sofia , Brandenburg ad Havel ). He then worked freelance for the DEFA studio for documentary films until 1983 . From 1981 he was a freelance writer and director. Numerous plays, radio plays, series of family broadcasts under pseudonyms, as well as arrangements and translations of classical and contemporary plays ( Gogol , Chekhov , Bojtschew , Presnyakov brothers ( Oleg and Vladimir ), Shakespeare ) were created. In the academic year 1997/1998 Werner Buhss worked as a guest lecturer for "scenic writing" at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig.

Werner Buhss lived as a freelance author in Berlin and Iceland . He died in October 2018 at the age of 69.
