occupation

The Nanny is a German comedy film by Matthias Schweighöfer , who plays one of the two main roles alongside Milan Peschel . The film opened in German cinemas on March 26, 2015.

action

Clemens is a building contractor and therefore has little time for his children. For his new building project in Berlin, only apartments have to be cleared and demolished before construction can begin. When Rolf, one of the former residents of the district, ultimately loses his apartment, he swears to take revenge and settles into Clemens' household as a male nanny. He wants to sabotage Clemens as much as possible. However, Clemens' children Winnie and Theo have made it their business to drive every new nanny out of the house. To achieve this, they resort to all possible weapons. Rolf quickly realizes that being a nanny is not as easy as expected and that he himself has to come up with ever harder guns. While he is trying to save his local pub, a new family is slowly emerging from his acts of sabotage. Because if he doesn’t want to, he wins the children's trust because he is “only” there for them. At times he is more of a father to her than Clemens. He is currently working very intensively and with full (male) physical effort to find an important investor. When she actually signs the contract, which would seal the demolition of Rolf's neighborhood, Clemens unexpectedly takes the side of his “nanny”. His children think that this time he would have done something right.

background

The film was directed by Pantaleon Films and Bros. Warner produced. Filming began in September 2014 in Berlin and at Burgscheidungen Castle . The budget is estimated at around 9 million euros.

The film already attracted attention in January 2015, when it was the job of a candidate on the TV show Mein bester Feind to have his lips sprayed on and to shoot a kissing scene with another man in Schweighöfer's film.

criticism

The film received mostly negative reviews. The film service ruled that the film was an "endeavored family comedy that addressed the supposedly child-hostile world of the rich and the social idyll of the poor with social platitudes and dramaturgical inconsistencies". Deutschlandradio Kultur described the film as a “silly German film comedy folk theater” and singled out the actor Milan Peschel . The Cinema spoke of a "turbulent [n], a bit too cumbersome [n] comedy that lives by the charm of good-humored performer".

Soundtrack

The soundtrack for the film was released on March 31, 2015 by Pantaleon Films , under exclusive license from Universal Music Group . In addition to the film music, other titles are represented, including Your Wish by Talisco and Fly (Score) , which was sung by Matthias Schweighöfer.
