Christian Kahrmann (born June 19, 1972 in Cologne ) is a German actor . He became known as Benny Beimer in the television series Lindenstrasse .

Career

Kahrmann stood in front of the camera for the first time at the age of eight. At the age of 13 he got the role of Benny Beimer in the television series Lindenstrasse . In the series act he also became a member of the band Mini Pigs , for which he learned to play the drums. Until he graduated from high school, he played in numerous television productions. After around seven years on Lindenstrasse , he left the series to devote himself to other projects. He appeared in the RTL series And bye! and played various other roles such as B. at the crime scene .

After studying theater, film and television studies, he moved to New York City in 1995 , where he trained as an actor at the renowned Herbert Berghoff Studio with Susan Batson, Salem Ludwig and Edward Morehouse until the end of 1998. Also in New York, he founded the German Theater Abroad in 1996 with his partners Ronald Marx and Jarreth Merz , with whom he has realized several festivals and productions of German-language drama both as an actor and as a producer.

In Germany, Kahrmann was in television productions such as Das Wunder von Lengede , Cubans kiss better , The best piece or Rats - they'll get to see you. He is known to moviegoers, for example, from The First Semester , Bang Boom Bang and Golden Times . He also played in international film productions such as Equilibrium with Christian Bale and The Tribunal with Bruce Willis and Colin Farrell . In the soap opera Eine wie keine , which went on air in November 2009, he was seen in the first 107 episodes as well as in episodes 182 to 205 as Ralf Berlett. At the end of the series on Lindenstrasse , he had another guest appearance as a ghost in 1754 on March 1, 2020.

Private life

After training as a barista, he has been running a café in Berlin called Kahrmann's Own since September 2012 . He lives in Berlin, is in a relationship and has two daughters born in 2007 and 2011. In May 2016, while intoxicated, he caused a car accident and announced in June that he was in rehab because of his alcoholic illness .
