action

The Lord William Huxley III. proposes marriage to the young and attractive Annina, who has been working at the Goethe Institute in London for six years. However, William does not know that Annina is actually already married and only lives separately from her husband Tom. She decides to fly to Germany to persuade her former love, who lives in the Bochum district of Wiemelhausen , to divorce. Annina also uses the opportunity to visit her parents to talk to them. Both Tom and her parents are very surprised, but are already looking forward to the unexpected visit. Her mother immediately bakes her a gooseberry cake, the kind Annina used to eat as a child. She also enjoys the German food that she has missed a lot in recent years. Her parents' house blessing is a bit wrong because her father has been spending too much time with his racing pigeons lately and her mother feels neglected as a result.

Thanks to a lawyer friend, Tom and Annina have their first divorce date the very next day. However, the marriage certificate that Tom should look for is missing. Annina helps him and so many old memories are awakened when looking through the things. Unfortunately, there were also bad ones, which is why she couldn't stand it at home anymore and went to London. Tom admits that his feelings for her have not changed in six years, which Annina is a little unsettled. When asked if she really loves her lord, she doesn't answer and leaves. There is still a lot to do with her parents. Her father has been missing one of his racing pigeons for some time and now hopes every day that his "Libuda" will come back. Annina, on the other hand, simply uses the Internet and posts a profile of the pigeon, which she then sends by email to all pigeon fanciers in the association. While her father likes pigeons, her mother loves real racehorses. They visit the harness racing track together and even win. Her father has good news too, because a pigeon fancier saw his "Libuda" and lured him into the dovecote. However, he doesn't want to leave there anymore because he fell in love with a hen here.

Since Annina has been in Wiemelhausen not a day goes by that she is not with Tom. So it is inevitable that the old feelings will wake up in her again and that she will sleep with Tom, which she soon regrets. In London, William Huxley III. accidentally found out about Annina's marriage, he has now followed her. Annina stands between two men and doesn't know who to choose. But in the end she gives William the engagement ring back. But she doesn't stay with Tom either, she flies back to London. But she realizes that this was probably a mistake. As soon as she has arrived in London, she immediately travels back to Wiemelhausen, where Tom immediately takes her in his arms.

criticism

Rainer Tittelbach from Tittelbach.tv rated: “From the Goethe Institute to the dovecote, from London back to the Ruhr area. 'Home is where the heart beats!' The viewer feels like in the pub - and if the ingredients of this film were to be condensed to their essence, one would have a hit: pleasant trallala, a little synthetic, a little kitschy, a little bit true. '"

For critics of the television magazine TV Spielfilm was London, Love, Cote a "love affair with plenty of ketchup - Mayo - sauce ". They gave the film a medium rating, thumbs to the side.
