action
The newly engaged financial advisor Katrin Schulmeister is looking forward to escaping the Christmas stress and spending a vacation in St. Moritz with her nupturant Aurelius von Waldborn. Her parents are delighted with their daughter's unexpected wedding plans and are enthusiastic about Aurelius as son-in-law. That is why they offer the globetrotter Aurelius, who is used to his family, to celebrate Christmas “in the family” - and to Katrin's horror he agrees. Her plan failed until Katrin remembers her father's dog hair allergy, which causes asthmatic attacks just by looking at a dog. So a dog is needed.
Katrin goes straight to the animal boarding school to borrow a dog over the Christmas holidays and to save herself the dreary party with her parents. There she meets Max, who wants to give up his lazy four-legged friend Kurt in order to flee to the South Seas over Christmas. The faithful looking Kurt is Katrin's dream dog and the loan is completed. Despite initial reservations, affection soon developed between the professional cook, who also writes newspaper columns on behalf of his Basset , and the young woman - and a romantic love story could actually take its course immediately if it weren't for Max's strange philemaphobia (fear of kissing). Whenever he dares to try a kiss, he faints, which he doesn't dare to say to Katrin. He prefers to seek advice from his apartment neighbor Nathalie, which of course his beloved misunderstood. With Nathalie's help, he realizes that his phobia will likely be resolved when he finds his great love. Without further ado, he cancels his trip to the South Seas and meets with Katrin, who, for her part, has realized that she can only be happy with Max and breaks off her engagement. They dare their first kiss together and Max finally overcomes his handicap with Katrin's help.
The disturbed Aurelius unexpectedly meets Nathalie and both fall in love at first sight.
