Olaf "Pivo" Deinert (born February 16, 1970 in Berlin ) is a German musician , composer and music producer .

Life

Pivo Deinert received his first guitar lessons at the age of six. He is the nephew of the musician Werner Deinert .

Deinert completed an apprenticeship as a photo lab technician and in 1991 went to the American Institute of Music in Vienna, where he completed a year of study in the field of guitar. He first played as a guitarist in jazz and country bands and worked for Frank Zander in the studio . In 2002 he trained as a music salesman and founded a recording studio with a music publisher and online label Cenno Rooms Records .

Deinert works as a guitarist (mainly rock and pop ), composer and producer. His discography includes artists such as Lou Bega , Volkan Baydar , Orange Blue , Ben , Roland Kaiser , Frank Zander , Loona , Ayman and others. Deinert is currently working with the Munich production team, Achtabahn, where he works as a studio guitarist for Wincent Weiss .

Deinert lives with his family in Berlin.

Musical work

In the late 1990s he wrote the string and wind arrangements for the albums “An acoustic evening with ...” and “Satellite motel” for the band She's China . In the following years he played a. a. with artists like Tex , Fady Maalouf , Francisca Urio, Volkan Baydar , Gregor Meyle and Nevio . At the beginning of 2007 Deinert toured with the London musical production "Abbafever" through Germany, Taiwan, the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain. With the band Backkings he accompanied solo artists such as Mic Donet , der Wolf , Lou Bega and Anthony Thet . Deinert is the regular guitarist of the Hamburg formation Orange Blue and the singers Volkan Baydar and Fabrizio Levita .

Deinert wrote the music for the award-winning series Alone Against Time together with the film composer Hans Hafner . Deinert and Hafner were nominated for the German TV Music Award 2010 for the music of the first season . Deinert also wrote the film scores for the EBU short films "Love", "Cakes & Rock 'n' Roll", "As Mama Slept" and "Zombriella".

In addition, Deinert composes and produces songs for TV series. Together with the musician Antje Zumbansen they placed the songs “Sometimes” for the telenovela Anna and die Liebe under the name Great Garden and the song “You are love” for the series Alone Against Time . Together with Volkan Baydar , the song "Beautiful life" was the title song of the ZDF series Dr. Small .

Productions

In 2014, Deinert was asked by Frank Zander for studio recordings of the song "I am still the old man". Zander wanted to feature the five best guitarists in Berlin on the song. Deinert plays the Dobro Solo on the recording, which can also be heard on Radio Edit.

Deinert started writing songs in 2008 while composing and writing lyrics with Volkan Baydar for “Help me”. In 2016, Basti Becks sang the first single, “Our Time”, and added a video about preparations for the 2016 Olympic Games. In addition, “Our Time” was the theme song for the movie Alone Against Time . In 2017 the second single "Hollywood" followed with the singer Jenna Hoff. In 2018 Deinert released his debut album “Meine Helden”, on which 13 different singers (including Lou Bega and Frank Zander) sing his songs. Deinert is also the producer and guitarist of the album.
