Ben (born May 15, 1981 in Berlin ; actually Bernhard Albrecht Matthias Lasse Blümel ) is a German pop singer , television presenter and actor .

Life

After finishing school, Ben studied singing, dance and acting. From April 2006 to early November 2008 he was engaged to the Danish singer Kate Hall .

Ben celebrated his greatest success in 2002 with the hit Engel together with the singer Gim and was also the presenter of The Dome (with Yvonne Catterfeld , the last time on September 2, 2005) and Toggo Music. From November 2005 to mid-2006, he hosted the program Bravo TV on ProSieben .

In 2007 Ben brought out four singles together with the Danish singer Kate Hall with the titles Unconditional , You are like music , Two hearts and I still love you so much . The song Du bist wie Musik was the German theme song for the Walt Disney film High School Musical 2 . The song appeared on the soundtrack but was not heard in the film. The lyrics are the German translation of the original song You Are The Music In Me , which was sung by Troy ( Zac Efron ) and Gabriella ( Vanessa Hudgens ) in the film.

In the animal and nature film The White Planet (2006) Ben worked as a narrator. In 2007 he was the dance partner of professional dancer Christine Deck on the RTL show Let's Dance Again . However, he was eliminated in the 6th episode. Also in 2007, Ben supported the Bertelsmann Foundation's Role Models campaign . For this he recorded the song Uniquely , which appeared as a double A single on the CD Unconditional .

In 2008 he was seen in the RTL sketch show “ WunderBAR ”, and he also spoke the main voice in the Danish-German animated film Sunshine Barry and the Disco Worms .

Since 2009 he has moderated the program KiKA LIVE on the children's television channel KiKA ; Tanja Mairhofer was at his side from March to October 2009 , and since January 2010 he has been moderating with Jess Schöne .

In 2010 he cooked for the perfect celebrity dinner against the presenter Annabelle Mandeng , the model Fiona Erdmann and the actor Jochen Schropp and won first place.

Ben supports “ Show your face! For a cosmopolitan Germany ". He dedicated his song I stand up to the association that campaigns against xenophobia , racism , anti-Semitism and right-wing extremist violence nationwide .

In 2010, Ben had a guest appearance as rock star Dirk Rockety in three episodes of the Sat.1 soap One like no . In 2012, Ben was a member of the five-person German jury for the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku .

On September 30, 2013, Ben was a guest at TV Total , where he presented his own cookbook. Since 2017, Ben has been moderating the show either or at ZDFneo .

So far, Ben has received the McMega Music Award , the Golden Tuning Fork and the Bravo Otto in Silver 2003. Several singles followed , including with Nena and for the music project “ Zeichen der Zeit” . In 2005 his solo single Sometimes appeared .
