Yvonne Catterfeld
Yvonne Catterfeld (born December 2, 1979 in Erfurt ) is a German singer and actress .
Life
Beginnings
Catterfeld, the daughter of an industrial welder and a high school teacher, took piano , guitar , singing , ballet and dance lessons from the age of 15 , with Kerstin Radtke and Chung Luong , among others . After graduating from the Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium in Erfurt, she took a year off. She then studied jazz and popular music for two years at the Leipzig University of Music and also taught small vocal groups, and she was also the singer of the Jamtonic group .
After completing her studies, she took part in the Voice 2000 singing competition, moderated by Peter Sebastian and broadcast by MDR . She called herself Viviane , but she soon gave up this stage name again. The music manager Thomas M. Stein (then managing director of BMG Germany , later a member of the jury at Deutschland sucht den Superstar ) made the pre-selection for Voice 2000 as a jury member . The BMG record company Hansa signed Catterfeld as the runner-up. In 2001 her first single, Bum , was released under the name Catterfeld , and it did not enter the charts. Over the next two years, Come Back to Me , Nobody Else and Feelings, three more singles appeared under her family name. From September 2001, she played the role of Julia Blum in RTL - soap opera Gute Zeiten .
2003–2006: musical breakthrough
With the title Für dich , produced by Dieter Bohlen , text by Lukas Hilbert , she achieved her musical breakthrough in Germany in 2003 with first place in the German single charts. A year later, she was able to repeat this success with You've broken my heart (produced by Dieter Bohlen, text by Eko Fresh ). She also sang in 2003 at the farewell concert for Modern Talking and in the opening act for Nena and Mariah Carey . She took over her first moderation at Lucky Star ; the pop-rock band Silbermond had their first television appearance there. She also moderated music shows such as The Dome and in 2003 as a representative for Michelle Hunziker Germany is looking for the superstar .
In 2004 she performed at some concerts on the anniversary tour Aufmarsch der Gianten by Udo Lindenberg . In Berlin-Treptow she was so hooted and booed by the audience that she left the stage in tears and did not return for the concert finale. On December 17, 2004, she had her last day of shooting on Gute Zeiten, Bad Zeiten . She justified her exit from the series by saying that the role did not offer her any further opportunities to try out acting. Her main concern was now to pursue her singing career. In spring 2005 her third album Unterwegs was released with the single Glaub an mich . She ruled out a return to the RTL series. En route was awarded a gold record .
In June 2005, Catterfeld separated from her manager Veronika Jarzombek, who had accompanied her since the beginning of her career. In the media, the main reason for this was suspected to be differences between the manager and Wayne Carpendale , with whom Catterfeld was dating at the time. Jürgen Otterstein has been your manager since then. From November 8, 2005 she played the leading role of Sophie von Ahlen in the ARD - Telenovela Sophie - Braut against will . Since the audience ratings fell short of the station's expectations, the telenovela was discontinued on March 9, 2006 after 65 episodes. In November and December 2006, Catterfeld was in front of the camera for the RTL mystic thriller The Secret of the King's Lake . She played the main role of Marla in it .
2007–2009: musical return and other films
Catterfeld's tour planned for spring 2007 was canceled due to a jaw operation. Compared to previous CDs, the album Aura sold rather poorly and occupied number ten in the charts for a week. In September 2007 the singer recorded the title Better Than Christmas for The Christmas Album by Till Brönner .
On April 25, 2008, Catterfeld and around 200 other artists spoke out in an open letter to Chancellor Angela Merkel against file sharing and called for better protection of intellectual property. The reason for the letter was the "Intellectual Property Day" proclaimed by the World Intellectual Property Organization on April 26, 2008.
Because of their resemblance to Romy Schneider , Catterfeld was intended to portray the title role in the international film A Woman Like Romy . However, the engagement did not materialize. In 2010, Catterfeld played the leading role alongside René Ifrah in the family drama Die Frau des Schläfers, broadcast by Sat.1 .
2010–2013: Musical changes and concentration on acting
Catterfeld's album Blau im Blau , which was realized with a small team and a small band, was only released in March 2010 due to its extensive shooting commitments. The single of the same name reached number 52 in the German charts.
In 2010 she played the role of Lotte Hass in the television film Das Mädchen auf dem Meeresgrund, produced by ZDF and ORF . The film is about the diving pioneers Lotte and Hans Hass , played by Benjamin Sadler ; Directed by Ben Verbong . In preparation, Catterfeld had to acquire a diving license. In some underwater stunt scenes she was doubled by Anna von Boetticher , the German champion in apnea diving . On October 14, 2011, she brought the compilation The Best of, From Beginning to Now on the market, on which all singles titles released up to then are included. The album did not reach the charts. On November 10, 2011, Catterfeld opened the Bambi Awards with Beautiful Day , a cover version of the U2 song of the same name .

The French film Beauty and the Beast by director Christophe Gans , in which Catterfeld can be seen in a supporting role alongside Vincent Cassel and Léa Seydoux, was released on May 1, 2014 . The film is an adaptation of the French folk tale of the same name .
In 2015 she took part in the second season of Sing my song - The swap concert . After the broadcast of the first episode, their album Lieber returned to the charts and reached a new high at number eight. The title song, which she sang herself on the show, entered the single charts. For the success of Sing mein Song - Das Tauschkonzert she was awarded a Bambi on November 12, 2015. On August 29, 2015, Yvonne Catterfeld represented Thuringia with the song Lieber so at the Bundesvision Song Contest 2015 in Bremen and came third behind Mark Forster and the band Donots .
