Blue in blue is the fifth studio album by the German Pop - singer Yvonne Elliman . It was released on March 5, 2010 on Columbia Records / Sony Music , four years after their last album . The album contains 15 tracks; December Prayer is sung in English, all other pieces are in German.

In February 2010, Catterfeld told bass-music.de that she wanted to delve a little further into herself. You draw strength for new songs. The album was completed within three years with a small band; it was produced by Achille Fonkam, who also wrote most of the lyrics. Catterfeld wrote three songs. Johannes Wennrich and Mirko Michalzic played the guitars, Christoph Buhse the drums. The bass comes from Olaf Casimir. The booklet was designed by Steffen Böttcher; the photos were provided by Sigrid Reinrichs, Oliver Wnuk and Böttcher.
Chart placements and singles
The album debuted at number 37 in Germany. Overall, the record stayed in the German album charts for three weeks . In Austria it was able to hold its own at position 44. Here the CD fell out of the charts after a week . In Switzerland , Blau im Blau is the only Catterfeld album to date that has not made it into the charts.
The title track was released on February 26, 2010 as the first single from the album. On the single there is also the song Stille Wasser as B-side . The single Blau im Blau reached number 52 in the German charts and stayed there for two weeks. Joern Heitmann directed the video for this piece; the recordings are from Duli Georg Diemannsberger. Patrick Wilfert was responsible for the editing and the visual effects.
The duet by Catterfeld and Cassandra Steen Never ask why? and Still are available for download. Still ranked 78th on the iTunes charts. Never ask why Originally comes from Stevie Wonder and Babyface from 1996 and was rewritten by Beatrice Reszat. The first version is called How Come, How Long .

According to Eberhard Dobler from laut.de , Catterfeld would have "not gotten the album" without support. Compared to their previous records, the whole CD actually sounds quite fresh and made from one piece. ... "This perfectly produced, acoustically-oriented adult pop, including strings, acoustic bass, accordion, keyboard man, wind instruments and the like, which dares excursions into chanson [...] but also in Sade's realm [...], really does not look bad for the Catterfeld." He is also of the opinion that Yvonne Catterfeld is an excellently trained singer.
Matthias Reichel from cdstarts wrote: "Musically, the songs are based on a pleasantly organic instrumentation, which is generated by acoustic guitars, strings, wind instruments, organ, piano, accordion and double bass" The two songs Time and Blue in Blue "gently caress the mind" . "[...] Similar to Jasmin Wagner [...] on her album" Die Temptation "(04/2006), [Catterfeld] [...] is making a musical change, away from teen pop to songs in a chanson-like manner." The The music and the lyrics are much more mature than their previous ones. cdstarts awarded 6.5 out of ten possible points.
