Lucas Rodrigo Biglia (born January 30, 1986 in Mercedes ) is an Argentine football player .

Career

Biglia played for the Argentinos Juniors until 2005 , before joining CA Independiente in January 2005 for a year and a half . In August 2006 he moved to Europe to RSC Anderlecht . Here he quickly became a regular player and finally team captain due to his consistently good performance in defensive midfield. For the 2013/14 season Biglia joined Lazio . From 2017 to 2020 he played for AC Milan .

Since 2011 he has been a national player in his home country. He took part in the 2014 World Cup in neighboring Brazil. In the quarter and semifinals he was in the starting line-up, as well as in the final, in which Argentina lost 1-0 to Germany. After the elimination of his team in the round of 16 of the 2018 World Cup , he announced his resignation from the national team.
