In 2015 she took part in the TV show Sing mein Song - Das Tauschkonzert and gained new motivation to make music after becoming a mother the year before. She founded her own label Veritable Records in order to be able to express herself artistically. The album was recorded and produced by the Beatgees in Berlin. While working on the album, Catterfeld was filmed. A one-hour documentation from the film material was attached to the deluxe version of the album on DVD.

Chart placements

The album entered the German album charts and number four in Austria. In Switzerland, Guten Morgen Freiheit made his debut in seventh place.

Singles

On December 9, 2016, the single Irgendwas released together with the German rapper Bengio . On the same day the music video was released on their YouTube channel . In the second week, the single rose to number 27 in the German single charts and stayed there for nine weeks.

On February 3, 2017, the single was released What remains , along with an acoustic video on Youtube. A week later, the single Besser werden followed with a lyrics video. The fourth single Freisprengen followed on February 17, 2017 and a week later the single Tür und Angel with rapper Chima .

A week before the album was released, the single Guten Morgen Freiheit , the opener and the title track were released. The music video for the single was released on YouTube on March 10th.

On the website thepickde.com , an author wrote that Catterfeld shows many facets on this album and that the album is like a new beginning for Catterfeld. Furthermore, the titles More than you see (Pt. 1) and More than you see (Pt. 2) are mentioned with praise.
