action
2011: The submarine U-864 , believed to have been lost since 1944 , is recovered in a fjord in Norway. The 85-year-old Ellen Ludwig experiences this; it prompts her to embark on an unusual journey: she gets into her granddaughter's taxi and lets her drive her to Oslo; During the journey, she recalls the dramatic events of her life.

Filming
The film was shot between February 15 and April 7, 2011 with a production grant of around 600,000 euros. Filming locations were Berlin and the surrounding area as well as Munich , the state of Lower Saxony and Norway . The set was created by Matthias Klemme and the costumes were designed by Helene Hohensee.
