Götz Schubert (born February 13, 1963 in Pirna ) is a German actor .

Life

Götz Schubert was trained as an actor at the Ernst Busch drama school in Berlin from 1983 to 1987 . During his studies he played in several film and television productions. After graduating, engagements at the Deutsches Theater and the Maxim-Gorki-Theater in Berlin followed . Works with the directors Jürgen Gosch , Thomas Langhoff and Alexander Lang emerged before he became known to a larger audience in 1989 in the film satire Two Weird Birds . In 1995 he belonged to the ensemble of the Kirschgarten production by Peter Stein for theSalzburg Festival . Since the 2013/14 season he has been part of the ensemble of the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg .

Schubert participated in the years 2002, 2003 (resumption) and 2005 as Siegfried at the Nibelungen Festival in Worms . In 2011 he could be seen as August the Strong at the first Zwinger Festival in Dresden. From 2007 to 2009 he played the service group leader Detective Chief Helmut Enders in the award-winning ZDF series KDD - Kriminaldauerdienst .

In the ARD crime series Wolfsland , which has been broadcast since December 2016, Schubert takes on the leading role of Görlitz inspector Burkhard “Butsch” Schulz alongside Yvonne Catterfeld .

Götz Schubert lives near Potsdam. He is married and has a son and a daughter. His brother Veit Schubert is also an actor.
