The big swindle is a German comedy film by director Josh Broecker from 2013. Mariele Millowitsch embodies the entrepreneur Elisabeth Sänger in the lead role .

action

Elisabeth "Elli" Singer is an entrepreneur with heart and soul. She runs her stonemason business, in which her husband Georg is responsible for creativity, with a lot of passion. Until one day Georg comes up with the idea to run away with the secretary Jeanette: Together with her he drives to the Himalayas , but not without saying goodbye to the company with the sweet words "I'm an adventurer, you can't chain me" .

For Elli, not only does a world collapse, but also its cycle. When she wakes up, she can't remember anything. The adult children Florian and Rieke fear a relapse, so the two of them keep silent about why, where, and above all with whom Georg fled with their mother.

But the children's plan doesn't work: Elli turns out to be a "tough one" because she really wants to know where Georg is. Another complicating factor is that the company now lacks a creative mind and there is a risk of losing sales.

Florian and Rieke see the matter as hopeless, so there is a solution to the problem: Georg's twin brother Günther, who has nothing in common with Georg other than his appearance, should stabilize the situation.

It happens as it had to: Günther is completely overwhelmed with the situation in his role as Georg. But the plot takes a turn: When Elli realizes that "her husband" obviously seems to have changed completely, she also dares to redesign her own life: she drops the love affair that she has entered into with Edgar and dares a new beginning of their marriage with “Georg” (who is actually Günther).

The situation finally gets out of control for the children Florian and Rieke, because the two actually did not have this development in the sights of their plans.
