Wolfgang Maria Bauer

Wolfgang Maria Bauer (born June 9, 1963 in Munich ) is a German actor , writer and director .

life and career

Wolfgang Maria Bauer was born the son of a high school professor and a sports teacher. He studied philosophy , German language and literature and theater studies at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and then attended the Stuttgart State Drama School from 1987 to 1990 . Then he played in various theaters, a. a. he was for three years the ensemble of the Residence Theater Munich and played in Romeo and Juliet -Inszenierung of Leander Haussmann to Mercutio . His other positions included the Berliner Ensemble, Deutsches Theater Berlin, Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Zurich, Burgtheater Vienna and the Salzburg Festival.

From 2000 to 2005 he was senior director at the theater in Heidelberg . Since 2014 he has been senior director again at the Stadttheater Landshut. As a director he has now worked on around 50 productions at German-speaking theaters.

Wolfgang Maria Bauer has written 10 plays that were published by S.Fischer Verlag and performed in German-speaking countries and abroad.

He became known to a wider public through the role of inspector Viktor Siska in the ZDF crime series Siska , which he played from 2004 to 2008.

Wolfgang Maria Bauer is an active member of the German national team of authors ( Autonama ). In his youth he played a. a. at TSV 1860 Munich and later as a center forward at Spielvereinigung Unterhaching .

He also works with children in Mexico, Guadalajara for his organization “Theater without Borders” (Egidius Braun Foundation DFB).
