action

A young girl is found dead in the Marzili river bath; Manuel Bossert, who is present, who is said to have killed a girl at the same place six years ago and then spent years in a psychiatric ward, is on the run. His psychiatrist Loredana Castelli, who happens to be present as a bather, rules out his perpetration towards von Burg, but Gertsch, who was involved in the Bossert case six years ago, regards Manuel's perpetration as proven. Manuel seeks out his mother Lydia, who broke off contact with him at the time, protests his innocence and asks her for help, but her new husband Jo Andermatt intervenes and sends Manuel, whom he believes guilty, away, and he notifies the police but not. The deceased Sonja Bürkli had her neck broken and a cross carved into her chest postmortem. Meanwhile, von Burg finds out that it was not proven at the time whether Manuel intentionally killed the girl or whether it was an accident, the girl had voluntarily had sexual intercourse with Manuel at the time and laughed at him because of his clumsiness, whether she was subsequently overthrown or pushed by Manuel can never be clarified beyond doubt. Manuel is arrested during the night, he makes a partial confession under pressure, but has to be released due to the circumstances of the interrogation and the thin evidence.

Von Burg looks around the Marzili-Bad and talks to the operator Ralf Zehnder, who at the time found the body in the first death, he is convinced of Manuel's guilt as a repeat offender. During the autopsy, sperm was found on the victim Sonja Bürkli, it is not Manuel's. Von Burg suspects a serial killer who could have murdered other missing women from the region. Meanwhile, Manuel lives with his mother, when his stepfather wants to give him money and send him away, Manuel reacts aggressively, but finally disappears. Von Burg creates a profile of the perpetrator with Loredana Castelli, it must be a loner who is incapable of normal sexuality. He apparently "avenges" himself on dark blond young women for a trauma from his childhood, apparently there was a dominant female person in his environment. Meanwhile, Manuel is attacked and admitted to the hospital seriously injured, he is in a coma, obviously he knew the perpetrator. Von Burg suspects Zehnder, but his sister Valerie, with whom Zehnder lives, gives him an alibi. Zehnder notices Valerie's dominant type, which gives him the idea that he is the perpetrator of both Manuel and the feminicide. Von Burg and Loredana come up with a plan as to how they can set a trap and convict Zehnder.

Von Burg had his assistant Gertsch search all waste disposal companies for the recently disposed of Zehnder's sneakers, as he suspected the remains of tissue from the corpse and hydrochloric acid residues because Zehnder had access to chemicals through the outdoor pool and the victims could have dissolved them in them. Meanwhile, Loredana investigates on her own by gaining access to the Marzili bathroom in the evening under a pretext and looking for evidence there, but she is caught by Zehnder. Valerie Zehnder hands von Burg a letter from her brother, in which he confesses and announces his suicide, meanwhile Zehnder tells Loredana that he had a relationship with his sister, but after a traffic accident in which she remained paraplegic, she was not with any More capable of intercourse. The other young women in their light clothing were sluts for him who didn't deserve better. Since Loredana ruined his "games", she must now die. While Loredana tries to flee from Zehnder, von Burg and Gertsch arrive at the Marzili-Bad, there they meet another young girl who had an appointment with Zehnder and can thus save her from the fate of the other girls. While von Burg discovered Loredana's bike in front of the bathroom, Zehnder was able to find Loredana, he let water into her hiding place in order to drown her. Loredana was able to free himself from Burg and Gertsch at the last moment, while Zehnder kills himself. The rehabilitated Manuel is brought to his home by his mother and her husband, Andermatt admits von Burg that he beat up his stepson because he thought he was the perpetrator, but von Burg lets the act rest.
