Bank robbery is a German television film by Konrad Sabrautzky from 2000. It is the 15th episode of the crime series A strong team with Maja Maranow and Florian Martens in the leading roles.

action

Three bank robbers make Berlin unsafe with their raids. Detective chief inspector Verena Berthold and her colleague Otto Garber are gradually discovering the trio. It was noticeable that for each robbery they had chosen different masks, which always reminded one of movies in which a bank robbery was committed. Research in a video store leads to the first perpetrator, so that the other two can also be found relatively quickly. Just as they prepare a new coup, they may be caught red-handed.

During the investigation, Otto has to look after the eight-year-old Paula, who may be his daughter. A former holiday acquaintance entrusted him with the child for a few days. As he notes, Sputnik could also be the father. Only Paula's mother later explains to both of them that neither of them is the father.

Although the bank robbers are in police custody, another attack suddenly occurs. Just as Otto and little Paula are about to withdraw money from the bank, two masked bank robbers storm into the customer room. Verena, who is waiting for them in the car, notices this and wants to intervene by arresting the third robber in the escape vehicle. In the meantime, the alerted police colleagues arrive and surround the bank. This means that the bank robbers' escape route is blocked and they are becoming increasingly nervous. The situation threatens to escalate when a customer courageously tries to intervene and is shot in the process.

The free riders are Wilhelm Meissner and his wife Doris. Since Wilhelm's brother works as a cashier in the bank, which was recently robbed, they came up with the idea of raising the money they needed for a life-saving operation on their child with heart disease. Verena learns this from Karin Meissner, who was supposed to drive the getaway car and has now been arrested.

The situation in the bank is coming to a head, and it is becoming more and more hopeless for the bank robbers. Verena went to the bank disguised as a doctor and tried to help. With the help of Wilhelm Meissner, she succeeds in convincing Doris to give up. But since his brother insists on the implementation of their plan by force, Wilhelm shoots his brother Rolf, who has just shown that money was more important to him than the life of his nephew, and then lets Otto arrest him.
